I think I've been looking far too long at this, there are so many meanings it can have. I can't choose which meaning fits it best. Like the butterfly: it can have a symbolic meaning (meaning life to the embryo) but it also means life to the caterpillar because he'll become a butterfly later on...
I don't even know if I want to make a statement with this or not. I mean, the reference I used for the embryo is from an embryo in a jar Yay for humankind, we're putting embryos in a jar
I *know* that humans don't come from cocoons, but caterpillars don't use blood veins for their cocoons either... Full view please. And I'm not saying that just for fun.
Done with Photoshop, all the references are from

[EDiT] I darkened the background and enlarged the border a bit.
I'd like to know what you think
Thnx
I like the butterfly too, I added it before I did the embryo and the caterpillar I was like: I don't know what this will look like, BUT IT'LL HAVE A BUTTERFLY!

butterfly makes a good contrast-type thing but if ya hade the rest of the scene darker it would stand out more, if you wanted to make it more of a point. otherwise. damn good
wow thats really good! i think of it more as life is cruel, and the butterfly symbolizes that there always is some good in the world.

I agree I didn't look at it like that, but the embryo kinda makes me think about that kind of stuff. That could've been a human being and now...
Anyway, before I drift too far off: Thanks very much

There's a water texture under it, although barely noticable, but it's there. If I made it darker you couldn't see that one, so I decided to just go with this

The butterfly is above the hue layer (above all the layers actually), so I could've darkened that one Oh well, I'll see, maybe I darken it a bit and edit the deviation very very sneaky
Thank you, I think I will, photomanips are quite fun

A brand new monthly article which showcases some of deviantART's finest equine artists, as well as recognizing the lesser-known but equally talented ones. Interviews, helpful tutorials and features can all be found here too! I hope you enjoy it.
The idea of this contest is to set you up completely blind with a mythical being - from any world culture - and turn you loose to come up with a deviation based around it!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
In this article you will find many thumbnails of the sun in different forms, all photography featured here by the club feature-me. Please show your support for these artists and their work and the article so that more people can see their work.
Lifehacker takes a look at the 5 Best online image editors. For those of you that don't use Photoshop, I highly suggest taking a look at this, as these apps allow you to edit your images in a browser window, and some are VERY powerful!
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
